Chocolate Box Cottages Set in a Rural Idyll:

This wonderful holiday venue was all and more than we had hoped for, but what made our holiday most enjoyable was the excellent service provided by the owners. We were an extended family of 18 (including babies), with ages ranging from 1 to 71 years, with varied requirements. In the months leading up to our holiday we made several obscure requests about activities and places to visit, which the Owners dealt with very efficiently and effectively to meet all of our needs. On arrival and throughout our stay we were not disappointed!

I have returned from a wonderful week at Wisteria Cottage. I can’t recommend this cottage and the their cottage next door highly enough. Sue and Steve have thought about just everything that you could possible want and need to make the cottage feel like a home from home and more! Our group consisted of young and old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at this delightful gite (wisteria Cottage) 2 – 9 July 2016. The place is spacious, maintained to a high standard, clean and well equipped, i.e if you can’t find it, you don’t need it. The area is peaceful, the gite(s) tucked away at the end of a quite road with little traffic. Wisteria Cottage is one of three houses on the site, along with Fuchsia Cottage and the owners house. However each has it’s own private and secluded garden with plenty of seating and areas to eat. There are two warm pools with decking area and doted in the pretty (extensive) garden, further seating, ping pong table, badminton, football ‘pitch’ and a host of other games to meet to need of every age, and ability. Then there is the barn full of bicycles to suit any family combination.

There are fresh herbs to add a bit of ‘zaz’ to your BBQ, while lizards dash between the rocks on the well tended flower beds, and the resident blackbird sings gallantly each evening from his perch on the top of a tall pine. Most areas, beach, town, supermarkets are accessible and Poul Fetan, a restored heritage village (small, interesting and well done) is within (a decent) walking distance and well worth a visit. Sue and Steve are discreetly attentive. The welcome pack is generous and the information folder, really does contain absolutely everything you need to know about, well, everything. While this is their home too, you do feel that you are able (and welcome) to wander, freely. They are very warm and friendly, and the comfort of their guests has been well thought through with every need met. This little oasis comes highly recommended for a relaxing, unwind – where the pace of the day is governed by when the birds sing and how long the sun shines.

During July we spent a wonderful 2 week holiday at Le Crann, Wisteria Cottage.. It is beautifully located in the Breton Morbihan countyside, with woods and fields surrounding it – including deers and owls! The cottage had everything you need (and much more!) for us, and if not, the hosts Sue and Steve were very welcoming and nothing was too much for them … Due to temperatures above 30°C, we spent a lot of time in the shade and the pools – very relaxing, the children didn’t want to go to the beaches (about 35- 45 min. to drive) anymore. Crann is also a very good starting point to visit the surroundings (cities, villages, seaside, beaches, lakes etc.); the information provided were very helpful and up-to-date. We definitely recommend the place for a relaxing, quiet holidays, yet offering manifold possibilities for families! It definitely has not been our last visit !!

We had a fantastic time at Le Crann. Both Steve and Sue we incredibly helpful and informative about the activities and sights in the area. The properties are really well equipped and comfortable with access to all “mod-cons”. We will definitely consider returning to these lovely properties (and hosts)!!

Gorgeous and very well maintained

The host and hostess, Sue and Steve were very helpful and so accommodating. They go out of their way to make you comfortable. The property and the cottages are in prime condition and so well maintained. We enjoyed our winter holiday stay and we had 5 adults and 6 grandchildren and were very comfortable with Wisteria Cottage space! I especially loved the large farm tables, so we could all enjoy our meals together! Such a beautiful spot and scenery was breath taking,

We arrived to a cozy fire, a bottle of wine and treats to eat. Sue’s “Bible” was invaluable: sights, restaurants, shops, history, etc. Sue, Steve and Maxine were so warm and friendly and easy to query. We would definitely stay there again.

What can we say? Sue and Steve have created a holiday venue and experience which is as close to perfect as it is possible to be.. All the prompt, informative and helpful email communication with Sue – from our initial enquiry right through the effortless booking process – inspired us with confidence that this was going to be a great holiday.. but Le Crann still totally exceeded our expectations. Believe me, no photos could do it justice!

The location is stunning, the views, pools, atmosphere.. and PEACE.. are second to none and absolutely every little detail of the property has been so carefully and thoughtfully considered, that our holiday ran like a well oiled machine. Sue and Steve are just lovely – discretely there to offer any extra help and advice. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble; we were even lent some swimming togs when we realised we’d come without them! From our lovely warm welcome with personally labelled bottle of wine to a very reluctant farewell, we enjoyed every minute of being in this beautiful cottage and area. The restaurants specifically recommended by our hosts were superb; all directions and information invaluable and impeccably presented. There is so much to see and do in this part of Brittany, if you can bear to drag yourself away from all that Le Crann itself has to offer. Our only disappointment was that we were all far too old to take advantage of the gorgeous playhouse in its own little landscaped garden.. we may have to borrow some under-10s and return in the near future..! Our stay at Le Crann was an absolute joy. We simply can’t recommend it highly enough.

We returned to Fuchsia cottage in June 2011, having first stayed there in September 2009. We really had the most perfect holiday, blessed with wonderful weather so we were able to enjoy the pool and the garden for breakfasts and leisurely lunches!

Sue, Steve and Maxine are just wonderful. They are so welcoming and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The information pack that Sue has put together is so comprehensive as everything you need to know about the area, places to visit, markets, restaurants and more is provided.

The cottage is wonderfully clean, cosy and more than big enough for a family of four. The private garden is very pleasant and secluded with outside dining and barbeque facilities and further gardens offers a play area for children and of course the pool which was well used on this visit! The highlight for our children was being able to play with Maxine in the pool every day.

This really is the perfect place to come for an idyllic get away in a beautiful setting. Sue and Steve are wonderful hosts. We have already booked our return visit with the grandparents for next year in Wisteria!

Le Crann is a child’s paradise and parents retreat. The grounds have all you could wish for to occupy young children which means lots of rest for mum and dad. We have just returned home from 2 wks in Wisteria cottage which was clean and comfortable. Lots of days out within 40 minutes of gite, well stocked supermarket within 10 mins drive. Sally at Daisy Chain can provide excellent home cooked meals on request. But the best thing about Le Crann are the owners who live on site and provide a high level of unintrusive personal service from advise about days out to latest weather forecast.

We spent a lovely family retreat in Wisteria cottage in May last year. in early May. The place is lovely, lost in the countryside of Bretagne. The cottage has everything needed and the outdoor area is just amazing with swimming pool and lots of place and games for the kids to safely play around. We were warmly welcomed by Steve and Sue (lovely people), who kindly provided anything we asked (bikes, advices…) during our stay. Truly recommended.

Just home after a fantastic two week holiday at Le Crann. Our two year old daughter loved every minute, she loved the swimming pool, the slide and the little blue playhouse! Happy daughter = happy holiday! The gite was comfortable and well equipped. Sue and Steve were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble. All the information we received before we arrived and also in the information pack in the gite were well put together, they ensured that we made the most of our holiday. There was even a fact sheet to help us cope ordering food with our daughter’s dairy allergy. Thank you Sue and Steve for a perfect holiday, hopefully we will be back one day!

We stayed at Le-Crann for the 1st time Easter 2015 and had a fabulous holiday, the Gites were everything we expected and then some more. The gardens and play areas were extensive and well maintained, the Gites extremely picturesk and well maintained with everything you could possibly need. Both Gites were nice and close to each other but were separated. The pools were great but it was still a little cold when we went to use them fully although we did try. Location was great, extremely quiet, owners very knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of nice walks and places to explore. Safe for children. Information packs were superb with lots of information, restaurants, places to visit, trips out etc. All the party enjoyed themselves and the children did not want to leave at the end of our stay. We would recommend the Gites to anyone looking for a holiday location in Britanny and look forward to a return stay. Graham & Diane

We would and have recommended Le Crann for an ideal get away. Two beautiful houses, amazing hosts and plenty to do made our holiday one to remember. Sue and Steve kept in contact with us when we booked, we could email them with any questions and they would reply promptly. Directions were sent to us which made our journey very easy, which toll roads to take and how much each one would cost. As we was arriving late evening, after a day travelling, our hosts booked our party of 13 into a local restaurant, Steve took us there after showing us around the cottages, introduced us to the owners and we had a beautiful meal, pizzas, pasta, steak which everyone enjoyed and just what we needed. The grounds of the cottages were beautiful with the wisteria just coming into flower, surrounded by well kept and safe grounds for the children to play in. The facilities offered included, mountain bikes, badminton, tennis, boules, the pools, footballs, and plenty more to keep the children and adults occupied. The cottages each come with a valuable pack of information which Sue updates regularly, info on walks, historical information, restaurants, beaches, shops, hospitals, pharmacy, doctors and anything else that she thinks that be of use to you. Both very clean and cosy we loved Le Crann from the moment we arrived. The kitchens were well equipped, in wisteria there is settings for upto 16 people to sit comfortably and enjoy a group meal which we did every night! In the cottages books, games, jigsaws, and English TV provided. We had golfers in our party, Steve booked a session for them, they loved the course, only 9 holes but very challenging! If we needed information or help, Sue and Steve were at hand, very friendly and approachable. Brittany is a beautiful place to go. We have recommended the cottages to several friends and we will defiantly be going back to stay. Thank you Sue and Steve for a memorable holiday.

Our stay in this cottage with our 13 year old son over the summer holidays last year was fabulous. Our son really enjoyed the pool during the hot days and since we last stayed the trees have been thinned out exposing the stunning views across the valley, lovely to look at whilst lazing by the pool sipping a glass of French wine. Our son , being that bit older can swim but the safety railings around the pool would be so reassuring if I had a younger child. It was so wonderful to feel relaxed and safe and we were happy to let our son who is on the Autistic spectrum wander around the large mature gardens and on site forest giving us a much needed break. He certainly enjoyed the sense of freedom and beauty of nature that is not easily experienced in the suburban area in which we live at home. However there was a great selection of DVD’s and SKY television to restore his need for teenage technology. I especially enjoyed the walks and cycling using the bikes provided by Sue and Steve who are so friendly and extremely knowledgable about the area having lived there for 7 years. We revisited our favourite ride along the local Blavet river. A few years ago we stayed in Fuchsia cottage but on this last visit we stayed in Wisteria cottage. Both cottages have been refurbished to an extremely high standard and have anything that you could ever want. I couldn’t fault anything and the attention to detail is remarkable. We didn’t need the wood burning stove this visit but I have fond memories of it from 3 years ago.

We have stayed at Le Crann twice, once in Wisteria and once in Fuchsia cottage. Three generations of our family holidaying together and we all love Le Crann. The swimming pools, play-house, swings and slide were very popular with the children and we all loved the gardens for our afternoon drinks and al fresco dinners. Perfectly situated close to historical towns like Pontivy, great beaches like Larmor-Plage and lots of villages in close proximity for groceries & cafe/bars/restaurants. Especially recommended is Hennebont for market day! Each cottage has all things required for babies and children from cots/highchairs as well as useful things like a box of toys, children’s dvds, beach toys…the list goes on. Nothing has been forgotten at Le Crann. Le Crann’s owners are a fountain of knowledge for everything to do in this part of Brittany.

We had a great family holiday and there was everything you could possibly want or need. Everything was thought of, from toys for granchildren and books, dvds and games for adults. Bikes, inflatables for the pool, table tennis and badminton. A comprehensive information folder was also provided. The accommodation was clean and we were all very impressed. Our hosts, Sue and Steve, were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Will be reccommending to family and friends. On a separate note our 4 year old granddaughter didnt want to go to the beaches nearby, she wanted to stay and play in the pool and wendy house! It is a very special place, quiet and peaceful with beautiful views.

After an extensive search for the ideal property for our weeks stay in southern Brittany we were absolutely delighted that Fuchsia Cottage was everything we could wish for, and more importantly was exactly as advertised. Sue and Steve were the most wonderful host’s and made us feel totally relaxed with a very warm and sincere welcome. The cottage was more than comfortable and well equipped in a delightful setting. We went to the coast which was about a 30 minute drive and also the Market at Hennebont is worth a visit. Sue has done a magnificent job of putting together an information pack, which became an essential tool in our day to day planning of where to go, eat, shop or visit etc., the information within this book was invaluable. Steve was very kind and let Tim use his golf clubs to have a couple of rounds of golf nearby, and we had the option also of using the bikes, but ran out of time, we only wished the holdiay could of continued, but with lots left for us to explore gives us the perfect excuse to return

A beautiful location for our holiday. Wisteria Cottage provided everything we could need for 4 adults and 3 children. Lots of space inside, loads of charm, a private outdoor area, beautiful communal garden and peace and quiet.

The children loved the pool, indoor and outdoor games and for our 2 year old daughter, the Blue House was a definite winner.

Sue and Steve were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I heartily recommend Le Crann if you are looking for a relaxed holiday with family or friends.

We were very impressed with the facilities at Le Crann. You have certainly provided everything we could have needed, especially in the way of sports equipment and children’s toys. It was also a bonus to have the basic provisions supplied for our arrival.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to you both for letting us stay at your fabulous cottage. We had a wonderful holiday and really enjoyed staying in your cottage. We thought your website didn’t do the cottages and grounds enough justice. It far exceeded our expectations. And it certainly felt like you’d thought of everything in terms of our needs etc. We would thoroughly recommend you to our friends too.
