We are often asked by our guests:

 “Why the move from England? Why Le Crann? ....”

Inspired by some friends who took the brave move to start up a luxury bed and breakfast in rural Spain, we knew it would not be easy but it was the right time in our lives to seek a  gentler way of life where people are valued above material possessions.  We also wanted our daughter to have the opportunity of experiencing other cultures and to become bi-lingual. We knew in making this move it had to be the right one, not only for us, but importantly for our guests.

In many ways we were ideally suited for running this type of business; having spent all of our working lives in the service industry and having substantial experience of the travel industry. We spent two years doing our research to find the perfect location. We considered France, Italy and Spain as possible options and undertook many mad-cap tours of large swathes of countryside on brief working holidays.  In the end we decided the only and best way to complete our research was to sell up in England and set off with a caravan to do the grand tour.  

A family of beach lovers, we quickly worked out that whilst we were seeking a place full of tranquillity, gentleness and culture we could not be more than 30 to 45 minutes to the closest beach.  So when we discovered Le Crann, we knew we had found something very special. The 16th century cottages were a perfect home from home, full of character and comfort, with private gardens and access to substantial grounds and the magnificent countryside. Southern Brittany offers a warm and temperate climate, easy proximity to UK and Northern Europe, stunning beaches, lots to do and a distinct and warm people. The perfect place to live and the perfect place to go on holiday.

Having now been here several years, we still wake up every day thankful for this beautiful place that is Le Crann.  And each year with each new guest, we are fortunate to be reminded how lucky we are to be in such an amazing idyll.

We have a great passion for the place we have made home. As a French friend once said to us; “A lifetime is not enough to discover all the joy that is Brittany” We are very aware that most holiday makers only have one or two weeks in which to enjoy their holiday and we strive to make sure that that our guests get the best from their holiday. We have a small cottage in the main gardens so we can maintain the property to a high standard and, if you wish, are on hand to help and advise on all that is available.  We hope you get the same pleasure that we do from Le Crann.
